What are we going to do now Brain?

My Office
“I’m bored, but the only thing I can think to do involves explosions”. That’s one way to pass the time. Tim always found ways to destroy things. He is famous in the stations around me for pranks, stunts & strange ideas. One day, Tim and his partner decided that the station chores needed their full attention. They took the high speed floor buffer and gave the bay floors a good shine. Then they pulled up chairs and waited to the first person to walk out into the bay. Funny? You bet. Safe? Well this was about ten years ago when firehouse pranks were still considered a part of station life.

Although Tim denies the incident, most people in the station believe that he had a hand in this one too. Some person decided to place a few small fire crackers inside the oven. The unknowing person went to preheat the oven, they didn’t expect to have a mini heart attack.

Tim  channeled his creativity in mischief and he was really good. One day he and his partner wanted to try something new. The hypothesis was simple. What would happen if you nebulized gasoline and then introduced an ignition source? The conclusion was just as expectable, explosion. Very loud explosion.

He would go to lengths for a laughs. We had individual rooms in the firehouse, and a row of lockers to store personal items. Tim thought it wold be a hoot to hide on the top of the lockers and wait for the firefighter to return to his room. We didn’t know when the firefighter was returning from station 2, but it should be soon. One hour later, Tim comes out of the room wondering where the victim was. Tim fell asleep on top of the lockers. He returned to the hiding place. Brian (the victim) returned to the station. I waited in the lounge. Brian went to his room to lay on his bed and watch a little TV. Ten minutes passed. I heard a scream, Brian ran out of his room “That boy is a damn fool” (a common saying about Tim) Brian said walking out into the lounge. Even the Captain was in on the joke, and we were all in stitches.
